Headshot 2020_edited.jpg

Sharlin Jahan is a comedian, actor and writer. You can often hear her expressing herself (yelling) at people in bars about the trials and tribulations of being a short, Bangladeshi, Canadian, Muslim, female-type person in Britain.

Despite only doing stand-up for 2 years, Sharlin’s loves doing competitions (never winning – that would be too much for her ego):

- 3rd place in the Bath New Act Competition (2021)

- Funny Women Semi-Finalist (2021)

- 2 North Down Semi-Finalist (2021) – Competition ongoing

- Shortlisted for BBC New Act Competition (2021)

- Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year Quarter Finalist (2021) – Competition ongoing

- Rising Star Finalist (2020)

- Get-up Stand-up Semi-Finalist (2019)

Sharlin is warm and friendly, but when crossed she can bite; she’s won many Angel Roast Battles.

Sharlin’s been featured on BBC Radio Essex and Union JACK Radio, and was one of 8 comedians selected to perform at Leicester Comedy Festival as part of Union JACK’s Circuitbreakers scheme.  Sharlin was also shortlisted for the Pleasance Reserve and has performed at Soho Theatre as part of their Soho Rising festival.

More recently, Sharlin has enjoyed touring Funny Femmes: Triple Bill - a split hour from three comedians who happen to be brown women. After a sell-out show at the Vaults, the trio have continued to enjoy success at venues such as Top Secret Comedy Club and 2Northdown. It seems that there are no heights Sharlin can’t reach – apart from the middle shelf.
