Sharlin Jahan is a comedian, actor and writer. You can often hear her expressing herself (yelling) at people in bars about the trials and tribulations of being a short, Bangladeshi, Canadian, Muslim, female-type person in Britain.

Sharlin’s been featured on The Now Show (BBC 4), BBC Essex Radio and Union JACK Radio. She was a Pleasence Reserves nominee and has performed at Soho Theatre as part of their Soho Rising festival in 2019 and 2022.

Sharlin loves doing competitions (never winning – that would be too much for her ego):

- 3rd place in the Bath New Act Competition (2021)

- Funny Women Semi-Finalist (2021)

- 2 NorthDown Semi-Finalist (2021)

- Shortlisted for BBC New Act Competition (2021)

- Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year Quarter Finalist (2021)

- Rising Star Finalist (2020)

- NATYS nominee (2022)

- Get-up Stand-up Semi-Finalist (2019)

More recently, Sharlin has enjoyed creating and promoting her comedy night: Brownsauce (@brownsaucehaha) - a monthly comedy night featuring the best South Asian stand-up comedians on the circuit. It’s been getting great reviews and will be going to the Edinburgh Fringe festival for a short run. It seems that there are no heights Sharlin can’t reach – apart from the middle shelf.
