KEVIN DEWSBURY

Kevin became a pro comedian when he was part of Just the Tonic’s Big Value show in Edinburgh 2004.  Over the years he’s performed at T in The Park, Download, Jongleurs, The Comedy Store, Frog and Bucket and many more. He appeared on ITV’s ‘Weapons of Mass Distraction’ and ‘Take The Mike’ and worked as a warm-up comedian for Channel 4s Balls of Steel. 

 

He’s been the support act for Tim Vine, Rob Llewellyn, Lucy Porter and Rhod Gilbert on UK Tours. A finalist in the Hackney Empire New Act of The Year competition and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year. 

 

After taking some time out in the late 2000’s after suffering a breakdown and being diagnosed with psychosis and depression he returned to the stand-up circuit in around 2012. Since then he has taken four shows to Edinburgh, ’In…Sane,' (His autobiographical show about his mental health journey) ‘Out Now’ (Exploring sexuality) and the hit parody cookery show ‘Kev’s Komedy Kitchen’. 

 

Kevin also writes and performs in the comedy duo ‘Your Dad’s Mum’ (with Bexie Archer) and their first show ‘Tues Night @ Social Club’ was nominated for best debut at Leicester Comedy Festival 2020 and went on to a sell out run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2021 at The Gilded Balloon.

 

Kevin’s film credits include Martin Scorsese’s ‘Hugo’ and Neville in ‘Destination Dewsbury’, he has also fronted various TV advertising campaigns. Theatre work includes James Joyce in Tom Stoppard’s ‘Travesties’, Llewelyn in Shakespeare’s ‘Henry V’ and The Fool in King Lear.
