Kate Barron

Kate Barron is a London-based stand-up comedian and writer who tours internationally. Born in Vancouver, she started her comedy career while living in Toronto and working as an art dealer.

Kate was named one to watch my multiple national Canadian media outlets including the Toronto Star and CBC. She has been invited to perform in JFL42 in Toronto, Off Just For Laughs + Zoofest in Montreal, SheDot Festival, NXNE, SirusXM Top Comic Canada, HBO's Women in Comedy Festival in Boston, Kitchener-Waterloo Comedy Festivals, and became the first woman to win the Toronto Comedy Brawl in its 9-year history, beating out over 400 other comedians.  Kate has continued to stand out, winning multiple competitions including The Comedy Store’s notorious King Gong show in London, and the Brantford Comedy Festival’s Rising Star title, before being asked to join the roster of Yuk Yuk’s, Canada’s largest, and most recognized comedy brand. Kate was nominated as “Notable Stand-Up Comedian” of the year through the Notable Life Awards, and nominated for Breakout Comedian of the Year by the I Heart Jokes Awards.

Kate is a beloved regular at the UK’s most well-known comedy clubs including Top Secret Comedy Club, The Comedy Store, Komedia, and Frog & Bucket to name a few. She has opened for Britain's Got Talent Winner Axel Blake, Saturday Night Live’s Sam Jay and Chris Redd, Comedy Cellar Regular Nathan Mackintosh, The Late Show with James Cordon writer Eliza Skinner, and Last Comic Standing’s James Adomian to name a few. She has been heard on SiriusXM Canada Laughs as part of the AltDot Comedy Lounge, and her new podcast, “You’ve Changed” will be launching early in 2023.
