GEORGE LAYTON

George has enjoyed a varied career in theatre, television and film having played leading parts in the West End, on Broadway and in Australia, embracing all genres be they comedy, dramatic roles or musical theatre.

Roles include Fagin in OLIVER! at the London Palladium (directed by Sam Mendes, produced by Cameron Mackintosh), Amos Hart in CHICAGO at the Adelphi Theatre, Bert Challenor in the nationally acclaimed production of COMEDIANS for the Oxford Stage Company directed by Sean Holmes.

He has had an extensive television career (as actor & writer) having starred in numerous television series including DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE/AT LARGE, IT AIN’T HALF HOT, MUM, ROBIN’S NEST, THE SWEENEY, MINDER, SUNBURN, HOLBY CITY, THE BILL, THAT’S LIFE and many others. George has recently been seen in EASTENDER, BOOMERS and CELEBRITY MASTERCHEF.

More recently, George played Billy Dunn at the Chichester Festival Theatre production of HEARTBREAK HOUSE. He then appeared at the Cadogan Hall with by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra reading from his best-selling book THE FIB (Macmillan) to music especially written and conducted by the distinguished film composer, Debbie Wiseman.

In 2015 George has filmed VICIOUS Series 2 (ITV), DOCTORS (BBC) and CASUALTY (BBC). He also voiced a new Doctor Who audiobook.
