Bexie Archer is an actor, comedian and writer from Telford in Shropshire.
A gifted actor, she trained in acting at RADA, The National Youth Film Academy, The National Youth Musical Theatre and The Almeida Young Friends, and studied Comedy Writing and Performance at The University of Salford.
In 2018 she won the Chortle Student Stand Up Comedy Award with her distinctly affable and alternative musings. Her light-hearted, playful style won over the industry judges and audience and she was a clear winner on the night. Building from her competition success, she has gone on to perform at The Pleasance, Latitude Festival, Angel Comedy, The Frog and Bucket and Comedy Store amongst others.
Also in 2018, Bexie was shortlisted for the prestigious BBC Caroline Aherne Bursary. The bursary recognises the best and most exciting character performers and writers in the UK and her inclusion on the shortlist further cemented her as a comedy talent to watch.
More recently, Bexie was selected for the BBC Writers Comedy Room 2019/2020 which gave her access to industry masterclasses, an insight into writing and pitching for different mediums and networking opportunities within the business.
She further consolidated her relationship with the BBC when she was cast in BBC Three's 'Sh*t Happened', an online topical panel show aimed at young people.
As well as being a formidable and talented solo performer and writer, Bexie and Kevin Dewsbury make up the new comedy duo Your Dad's Mumwho's debut show, 'Tues Night At The Social Club' was nominated for 'Best Debut Show' at Leicester Comedy Festival 2020. The show was set to debut in Edinburgh 2020 before going on tour. They plan to rekindle this later this year.
