Funny Women Award Winner, Thanyia Moore, joins the likes of Katherine Ryan, Andi Osho, Sarah Millican, Miss London Hughes, Suzi Bennett and Desiree Birch to name but a few to win the coveted award. Beating over 400 women in over 60 heats, Thanyia is crowned, the Queen of Comedy 2017/18.
With a background in Performance Art, Dance and Drama, Thanyia Moore has been making audience’s laugh since 2012. Known as ‘one of the hardest working comedians on the circuit’, Thanyia is one of the only females in the UK who works both the mainstream and Black comedy scenes.
In 2013, Thanyia won the Best Female Newcomer Award allowing her to travel both across the UK and the world, including New York, Sweden, Amsterdam and Barcelona to name but a few. Because of this, it allowed Thanyia to work with some of the best comics on the scene today, including but not limited to – Dane Baptiste, Imran Khan, Desiree Birch, Paul Chowdhury, London Hughes, Richard Blackwood, Patrick Monoghan, Sean Lock & Joel Dommet.
Thanyia also hosts comedy clubs and events and is resident for a few up and down the country. You can see her regularly at Top Secret Comedy Club, Angel Comedy or Jongluers Comedy Clubs, in addition to The Red Carpet Variety Showcase & The Sunshine Foundation Charity, which holds a special place in Thanyia’s heart as the charity focuses its attention on children with special needs both in the UK and the Caribbean.
Thanyia is also the founder and resident host of Moore Laughter in both London and Birmingham.
