SAMANTHA BAINES


Trained at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama Samantha is a Best Actress Award winner and critically acclaimed comedian who recently returned from a sold-out run of her smash hit debut show 1 Woman, A Dwarf Planet and 2 Cox at the Pleasance Courtyard at the Edinburgh Fringe. 

Winner of the What the Frock Best Newcomer Award 2015 for her stand up comedy, Samantha is also A Funny Women Awards Finalist 2014 and Laughing Horse Semi-Finalist 2014. You might recognise Samantha as Janet in Sunny D for BBC3, Mary in The Crown for Netflix or from character roles in Call the Midwife, Doctors, Lee Nelson's Well Funny People, Hank Zipzer and So Awkward for CBBC. Samantha also recently played the role of Mary in celebrated cinema release A Royal Night Out alongside Emily Watson and Rupert Everett.
Samantha writes for a number of publications including The Guardian, Time Out, the Huffington Post Comedy and Standard Issue. She frequently appears on the radio on stations such as Radio 4, XFM and Absolute Radio and has recently presented shows on BBC Radio London and Virgin Radio.
